Swab Summer is the beginning of swab (freshman) year, the first part of the journey taken by new cadets. It is the most difficult and demanding period of military training you will experience as a cadet, taking place over a period of eight weeks, one of which is aboard the tall ship Eagle.
How do you prepare for a summer swab?

The Swabs remain with their fellow platoon members throughout the summer and the following school year. A day during Swab Summer starts at 0530 with Reveille and morning calisthenics. The Swabs then clean up their “wing area” (the section of the barracks where the platoon sleeps) and go to breakfast.
