What is Unity Pro?
Unity Pro gives you access to Unity Cloud Build, which allows you to store project data on a cloud server so multiple members on your team can build and compile projects faster. Having Unity Pro also gives you access to Unity Beta builds. Unity Pro provides exclusive deals for assets on the Asset Store.
How much does Unity Pro cost?
Effective January 1, 2020 at 12:00 am UTC, the price for Unity Pro subscriptions will be USD $150/month and Unity Plus subscriptions will be USD $40/month for new seats, additional seats, and renewals of expiring custom agreements. Unity Personal remains free for all eligible users.
Is Unity Pro free?
Is there a revenue or funding limit for Unity Pro customers? No. No, Unity is royalty free. We don’t charge on a per title basis or require a revenue share model.
Do you need Unity Pro?
No. You must purchase or subscribe to a Unity 5 Professional Edition and iOS Pro and/or Android Pro add-ons to deploy to those platforms. Yes, if you meet the requirements to use Unity Personal Edition, mainly, that you did not earn/receive more than $100,000 in revenue/funding in the last fiscal year.
Is Unity free for students?
The Unity Student plan is available for free to individual students and cannot be purchased. Please refer to the free Education Grant License for your institution’s classroom needs.

Why is Unity plus so expensive?
Just simple economics…they need to charge enough to cover their costs, plus hopefully make some kind of profit, so they set the price to what they expect will sell enough copies to do that.

You are a developer using Unity Personal Edition (free). You want to sell a game or app you have made and continue to use the Free/Personal Edition, without upgrading your license to Plus, Pro or Enterprise. Resolution: You can absolutely sell commercial games made in the Personal Edition of Unity.
What happens if you make more than 100k in Unity?
When Unity Technologies suspects that you make more than $100,000 with the free version of their product they might sue you. During that lawsuit you might be forced to show your books to prove how much revenue you made and how many people you had working.
