What does luna moth eggs look like?
As evening sets in, adult female luna moths deposit eggs, singly or in clusters, on the tops and bottoms of the leaves of a host plant. The eggs, smaller than the head of a pin, are white and faintly oval-shaped, coated in a brown adhesive to help them cling to the host plant.

The total lifespan of a luna moth, Actias luna (Linnaeus), is between 9-11 weeks. During their life cycle, they spend six to seven weeks as larvae, two to three weeks as bigger luna moth caterpillars, and then finally, only about a week as adult luna moths.
