The South Ridge area is the beginner area at Sunday River. The South Ridge HSQ is one of the best beginner lifts in the east. It services about 500 vertical of consistently pitched, but very gentle terrain. The lift does not usually have much of a line either when the North Peak Express and Chondola are also open.
