When was the latest amendment of the Imsbc code?

The revised IMSBC Code (5th amendment) was adopted by IMO Maritime Safety Committee 101st session (MSC101) held in June 2019 and individual schedules of each cargo were amended. IMSBC Code 5th amendment will be entered into force on or after 1 January 2021 and is mandatory for all vessels that load solid bulk cargoes.
How many years do the Imsbc code reviewed?
Whilst the Code covers stowage and carriage by sea, it also deals with loading and unloading issues and it should help to resolve disputes such as those referred to in LP 716. Members are also reminded that the IMSBC Code will in future be revised every 2 years in the same way as the IMDG Code.

What is the latest edition of IMDG Code?
The IMDG Code, 2020 Edition (inc. Amendment 40-20) comes into force on 1 June 2022 and may be applied voluntarily as from 1 January 2021. The IMDG Code, 2018 Edition (inc. Amendment 39-18) came into force on 1 January 2020 for two years and may be applied voluntarily as from 1 January 2019.
Can I test Imsbc code?
The IMSBC Code recognises that the Can Test determines the “possibility of flow”. It is not an absolute indicator. If, after the test has been conducted properly, the surface of the sample has free moisture or displays fluid conditions, then there is the possibility the cargo could liquefy.
What is the flow moisture point?
Flow Moisture Point is the moisture content at which a flow state develops. Transportable Moisture Limit is calculated as 90% of the Flow Moisture Point.
Do bulk carrier have to adhere to both the IMDG Code and IMSBC Code?
Carriage of dangerous goods in packaged form is amplified through provisions of IMDG Code and solid from in bulk through IMSBC Code. For packaged Dangerous Goods, the carriage is prohibited, unless they are carried in compliance with the IMDG Code.
Is IMDG Code mandatory?
The Code, was initially adopted in 1965 as a recommendatory instrument. It was in 2002 that the general Assembly at its seventeenth session adopted by resolution A. 716(17) the IMDG Code, and decides to give it a mandatory status under the umbrella of SOLAS Convention, from 1 January 2004.
