What are TCU Showgirls?
TCU SHOWGIRLS. You can find the Showgirls dancing and cheering at TCU football, basketball, and baseball games and other TCU events. In addition, selected members travel to the football bowl game and postseason basketball tournaments.
Do TCU Showgirls get scholarships?
Cheerleading can be exceptionally risky, and hard on the body. It’s cheer program, however, is not a part of athletics. It’s a part of student affairs. TCU, which for years had its cheer programs under Fine Arts, no longer competes, and offers no scholarships.

The name was changed in 1981 to the Songleaders. The Songleaders Dance Team serves as great Baylor ambassadors on and off campus. The Songleaders are known for their technique and ability to perform jazz, pom, and hip hop during games, events, and pep rallies.

The TCU Showgirls encompass well rounded individuals of both good character and gameday spirit. Due to their high visibility within our community, we are looking for those that best represent the University in a positive way. How well you work with our coaches, each other, and receive correction will be highly considered at auditions.
How old do you have to be to go to TCU cheerleading tryouts?
If you are under 18, your tryout application form MUST BE SIGNED by a parent or guardian in order to participate. Applicants must provide complete insurance information to participate in the clinics and tryouts. Squad members must maintain insurance all year to be an active team member.
When does the TCU athletic season start and end?
In support of TCU athletic games and other appearances, commitment to a full year of participation is absolutely mandatory. Our active year begins in April with auditions and meets again in August for work weeks in prep for the Fall season. Games begin the first weekend in September and the season finishes up the following April.
