The filter is located under the rear seat on the passenger side of the vehicle. Once the seat is removed, the access panel to the fuel filter can be seen (Figure 8). Remove the 10mm nuts that surround the exterior of the panel. Using a flat tip screwdriver, pry up on the cover to remove it from the body.

Mines a 2010 R56 Cooper S, Petrol, made for the UK obviously. Do you know how I can access and change the filter? Not fuel fitter fitted! Thanks for the responses, literally never heard of a car not having a serviceable fuel filter, though this is the newest car I’ve worked on.
