Do you need a pass for Mike Lake?
Trail Notice A BC Parks Day-Use Pass is required to hike the Mike Lake Trail. Mike Lake is a short but scenic trail located in Golden Ears Provincial Park. A lot of hikers pass by the lake on the way to Alouette Mountain but the trail is also perfect for families wanting a short nature walk.
Are dogs allowed at Mike Lake?
Mike Lake Trail is a 6.4 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, nature trips, and bird watching. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Is Alouette Lake open?
Mountainous Golden Ears Provincial Park is home to three campgrounds: Alouette, Gold Creek (open year-round) and North Beach. From mid-October to April, however, the park is open only from 8 am to 5:30 pm. During the warmer months, the gates are open from 7 am to 11 pm.

Starting in winter when Alouette Lake reservoir is fully mixed and uniformly cold at an average temperature of 5°C, the LLO delivers water to the Alouette River that is similar in temperature.
Is Alouette Lake safe to swim?
North Beach is located on Alouette Lake in the Golden Ears Provincial Park. There are excellent camping facilities as well as opportunities to swim and fish. Fraser Health Authority monitors the water quality at 42 Fraser Valley beaches. Recreational water is considered safe if the geometric mean result is under 200 E.

There is very limited cellular phone service within Golden Ears Park, mostly located within the first few kilometers of the park gate. There is no service at the Alouette Lake (South Beach) day use area, at the campgrounds or at the Gold Creek (North Beach) day use area.

It is a part of the Garibaldi Ranges, and is located in Golden Ears Provincial Park. Originally, the massif was referred to as The Golden Eyries, which became corrupted to Golden Ears in reference to the pointy ears-like shape of the double summit of the mountain now named Golden Ears.

Originally part of Garibaldi Provincial Park, the establishment of Golden Ears Park in 1927 recognized the almost impenetrable mountain barrier between the two areas.
