Is TN ready for a grade?
Not all students are tested In Tennessee, students in grades 3 through 8 take TNReady tests covering English language arts, math, science and social studies. A handful of school districts also opt-in to optional testing for second grade.
What is the purpose of TNReady?
TNReady is a part of the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) and is designed to assess true student understanding, not just basic memorization and test-taking skills. It is a way to assess what our students know and what we can do to help them succeed in the future.
What is TN read to be ready?
Read to be Ready is a statewide initiative focused on the critical importance of reading with a goal to move 3rd-grade reading proficiency in Tennessee to 75 percent by 2025.
What is a good TCAP score?
A quick score of 85 in seventh-‐grade science is equivalent to a scale score that is proficient, but a quick score of 85 in seventh-‐grade English language arts is equivalent to a scale score that is basic. Quick scores are not intended to be a parent’s primary window into their student’s performance on TCAP.
What are the examples of social studies?
An example of social studies is a course you take in school where you learn about the development of cultures and the nature of people. A course of study including geography, history, government, and sociology, taught in secondary and elementary schools.
