Why was ThermaCare cream discontinued?
Pfizer Consumer Healthcare, a division of Pfizer Inc., is voluntarily recalling six lots of ThermaCare HeatWrap product to the consumer level. Pfizer initiated the recall because product from the lots has a potential to leak ingredients that are contained in the heat cell wrap.

How do you use ThermaCare heat wraps?
For maximum effectiveness, we recommend you wear ThermaCare for the full 8 hours. Do not use for more than 8 hours in any 24 hour period OR for more than 7 days in a row (4 days in a row for menstrual product). Place on pain area on lower back or hip with darker discs toward skin. Attach firmly.
Is ThermaCare safe?
You can safely wear more than one ThermaCare® HeatWrap as long as they’re in different locations. Don’t wear more than one HeatWrap in the same place at the same time. Be careful not to overlap heat cells or wear any HeatWraps under tight-fitting clothing, belts or waistbands.
Is ThermaCare cream supposed to burn?
5.0 out of 5 stars Helps, it may burn, but it’s nothing compared to my pain. It’s sooo helpful for my trapezoid muscle pain and nerve pain that refers to there. It burns in the heat but otherwise is way better than all those other poser creams out there.

Are ThermaCare heat wraps toxic?
The ‘heat cells’ in Thermacare contain activated charcoal, iron powder, sodium chloride, sodium thiosulfate and water. Toxic levels of iron will cause damage to the stomach and intestinal lining. It can also cause severe liver and heart damage.
