According to The Observation of Haruhi Suzumiya, this is not Nagaru Tanigawa’s last novel in this series. This was confirmed on August 31, 2020 with the announcement of the 12th light novel, The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya. A Kindle version of the book is available in English.

The tale is a fun one, and it’s a good addition to the Haruhi franchise. We get a lot of Kyon and Koizumi’s typical discussion of things supernatural, metaphysical and absurd. The light novels really add new layers to the Haruhi story, and are worth reading.

First season is great fun, just watch it in chronological order because its confusing otherwise. It has sci fi portions but is mostly a good slice of life.
How did Haruhi Suzumiya end?
After a few haphazard time travel escapades, everything gets back to “normal.” The movie, and the series, conclude with Kyon contemplating his return to the SOS Brigade, taking a moment to try Haruhi’s hot pot cooking before going back in time to close yet another loop and save the world he has chosen.
