How do you play Phase 10 on a regular deck?
This game is inspired by Phase 10, a commercial version of Contract Rummy, but is played with normal playing cards. To begin, deal each player 10 cards and flip one card face up. The object of the game is to complete each “phase”….10 Phases.

How many do you start with in phase 10?
Phase 10 can be played by 2 to 6 players. Choose a dealer to shuffle and deal out 10 cards face down, to each player. Players should not show their cards to one another. The remaining cards are placed in the center of the group to form the Draw Pile.

Playing Skip-Bo: Play begins to the left of the dealer. Draw five cards at the beginning of your first turn (and back up to five on subsequent turns). You can use a Skip-Bo (wild card) or a 1 to begin one of the four building piles in the center of the playing area.
Do you have to draw every time in phase 10?
Once you have completed and laid down your phase you must attempt to play out the remaining cards in your hand. Remember: You must ALWAYS draw one card at the beginning of your turn and discard one card at the end of your turn.
Can you pick up cards in phase 10?
You may use any number of wild cards to complete phases, as long as you have at least one “natural” card in the group. If a Wild card is on the top of the discard pile at the begging of the game, it can be picked up. Skip cards cause another player to lose their turn (think Uno).
Can you lay down more than 2 sets in Phase 10?
You can have more than is required in your phase to lay down, and if that is the case you will want to play all cards you can, as once you complete the phase your goal becomes to discard your hand.
Can you take the whole discard pile in Phase 10?
On your turn, draw one card, either the top card from the draw pile or the top card from the discard pile, and add it to your hand. End your turn by discarding any one of your cards onto the top of the discard pile. So you may draw from the discard pile to hit only when: It is your turn.
