The Blaschkas’ primary technique was lampworking, in which glass is melted over a flame fed by air from a foot-powered bellows, then shaped using tools to pinch, pull or cut; forms were blown as well. Their old-fashioned Bohemian lamp-working table is part of the museum exhibit.

One of Harvard University’s most famous treasures is the internationally acclaimed Ware Collection of Blaschka Glass Models of Plants, better known as the “Glass Flowers.” This unique collection was made by Leopold (1822-1895) and Rudolf Blaschka (1857-1939), a father and son team of Czech glass artists.
Does the Natural History Museum check bags?
Coats, umbrellas, and bags may be checked for $2 per person, space permitting. All articles must be claimed before the Museum closes. Items not accepted in the coat check include perishables, wallets, purses, musical instruments, bikes, computers, and other items deemed to be of high value.

You can carry a backpack and purse. We weren’t even screened. Outside food is ok to leave in your backpack. You cannot eat on the premises.
